Photos from Deans Chess Lecture

I added three new pics to the featured photos that I took at last weeks pizza and chess lecture given by IM Dean Ippolito. One picture shows Dean at the computer preparing the lecture, one shows some sets at chess academy, and one is of Lou and Kevin enjoying the chess talk.

NJ Futurity…

This weeks featured video is a bit late but I’m still getting use to working the new theme.

I took this video at the July 2008 New Jersey Futurity that was held in Branchburg at Dean Ippolito’s Chess Academy. I stopped by for a visit one evening after work. Most games were wrapping up and I got the chance to record the post-mortem between GM Ehlvest and IM Scekis.

Pizza and a Lecture at Dean’s Chess Academy

It’s Tuesday and that means another evening of pizza and a chess Lecture with IM Dean Ippolito at his Chess Academy in Branchburg New Jersey.

Each lecture is only $30 and that includes pizza and drinks! It starts at 6:30pm. The lectures are on a different chess theme. Last week it was on endings with opposite colored bishops and how to build a fortress. The lecture before that was about making choices between candidate moves. I’m sure tonight’s lecture will be another good one. Dean always does a good job. It’s very informal and you can ask Dean lots of chess questions. It’s a fun time discussing chess an IM and a bunch of good local players.
